Winnipeg, MB – Four people are facing trafficking-related charges after a late-night traffic stop in Winnipeg led police to seize methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), cash, and drug paraphernalia.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers with the North District General Patrol Unit stopped a grey Mitsubishi RVR just after 2 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Alfred Avenue. Police said they observed illicit drugs in plain view, leading to the arrest of all four occupants.

A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 133 grams of MDMA, valued at an estimated $2,700, along with drug packaging materials, a scale, and about $2,200 in Canadian currency.

Police said a 28-year-old man, a 32-year-old man, and a 33-year-old woman were charged with possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (ecstasy) and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000. All three were released on undertakings.

A 37-year-old man faces similar charges but also stands accused of failing to comply with release conditions and remains in custody.

Authorities continue to investigate the case.
