Police said a 43-year-old man approached two workers, aged 23 and 48, during their shift before allegedly pulling out a knife and chasing them. Officers from the Central District General Patrol and Foot Patrol units responded and located the suspect about 20 minutes later in the 400 block of Balmoral Street. Police said a knife was seized during the arrest.
The suspect, identified as John Howard Bird, 43, has been charged with possession of a weapon, two counts of assault with a weapon, and breach of recognizance. He was detained in custody, police confirmed.
