Winnipeg, MB – Two people are facing multiple charges after a Winnipeg Transit bus driver was assaulted Sunday night in a violent confrontation that ended with the suspects allegedly slashing the side of the bus, police said.
According to the Winnipeg Police Service, the assault occurred around 10 p.m. on October 13, 2025, in the 2000 block of Main Street. Officers responded after reports of an attack on a 26-year-old bus driver. The suspects—a man and a woman—were arrested minutes later in a nearby parking lot in the 1800 block of Main Street.
Investigators say the pair were passengers when a verbal dispute with the driver escalated. The man allegedly assaulted the driver while the woman allegedly spat on him before both exited the bus. The man then allegedly pulled a knife and slashed the bus’s exterior before fleeing.
Reece Alexander John Turnbull, 29, has been charged with assault and four counts of failing to comply with a release order. Emilee Mina Alexis Dubois, 25, faces charges of assault, possession of methamphetamine, and two counts of theft under $5,000.
