Winnipeg, MB – Two men were shot Thursday evening during a violent armed robbery at a residential jewellery business in Winnipeg’s Maples neighbourhood, according to police.
The Winnipeg Police Service said the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on October 9, 2025, at a home-based jewellery business on Bachman Bay in Mandalay West. Officers found two residents, ages 56 and 33, suffering from lower-body gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital — one in unstable condition, the other stable — where they received medical treatment.
According to investigators, a black 2020/21 Volkswagen Jetta with five people aboard arrived at the scene after circling the block several times. Four armed, masked suspects exited the car, entered the residence, and allegedly shot two of the occupants before stealing an undisclosed amount of jewellery. The suspects fled westbound on Jefferson Avenue in the waiting Jetta.
The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is appealing for public assistance. Detectives are requesting dashcam footage from anyone who may have been driving in the Jefferson Avenue and Argate Bay area before or after the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Major Crimes investigators at 204-986-6219, or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
