Rockford, IL – The Rockford Police Department announced Monday that officers recovered multiple firearms and arrested two individuals following a series of searches at the Orton Keyes housing development earlier this month.

According to a release from the department, detectives executed warrants on October 28, 2025, at residences on Ranger Street and Score Street after investigating reports of juveniles and adults possessing firearms. Officers reportedly located several loaded firearms, including a handgun equipped with an auto-sear conversion device, which can convert the weapon into a machine gun.

Police also recovered a drum magazine containing 47 rounds, along with more than 400 rounds of ammunition found across the two locations.

Authorities identified the suspects as Clidell Stevenson Jr., 66, and a 17-year-old male from Rockford. Stevenson faces charges of possessing a firearm without a FOID card. The juvenile allegedly possessed multiple weapons lacking serial numbers and ammunition without a FOID card.

Both were taken into custody — Stevenson lodged at the Winnebago County Jail and the juvenile at the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center. Police noted the charges are accusations at this stage, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
