Winfield, IL – 5th Annual Criterium and Summerfest — What to Know Before You Go

Winfield, Illinois — The fifth annual Winfield Criterium and Summerfest is this Sunday, July 20. Races begin at 10:00 a.m. and will end at 8:10 p.m.

The Winfield Criterium and Summerfest will host ten cycling races throughout the day, including a family ride in the evening. There will be face paint, inflatable play areas, a bubble machine and a balloon artist. There will also be an Artisan Market with 24 vendors, eight food trucks and a beer and beverage trailer.

The racecourse will start across from Creekside Park. The cyclists will head north to turn left at Beecher Avenue, take a left onto Park Street, left onto Washington Avenue and left again onto Winfield Road. This area will be closed to all vehicles beginning at 9:00 a.m on Sunday. 

Starting at 2:00 a.m., no parking will be allowed on the racecourse. Residents on the racecourse who need to drive on Sunday should plan ahead and park their vehicle outside of the racecourse. Residents may park on Beecher Avenue west of Park Street or at the Winfield Library parking lot.

The Winfield Criterium is part of the 10-day Intelligentsia Cup Chicago from July 19 to July 22. This cycling event series takes place in different locations in the Chicago area and is hosted by the DuPage County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
