La Crosse, WI – Wisconsin residents should prepare for a wet and windy start to November, as showers and gusty winds are forecast to hit the La Crosse area on Friday and persist through the weekend. The National Weather Service warns of high winds reaching up to 32 mph, creating hazardous conditions for travelers along I-90 and nearby roadways. Commuters are urged to drive with caution, as reduced visibility and slippery roads could make conditions challenging.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday will begin with morning showers tapering off by the afternoon, giving way to partly cloudy skies and a high near 49 degrees. However, the cold will settle in during the night, with temperatures expected to drop to a low of 34 degrees. Saturday is forecasted to bring mostly sunny skies, with highs reaching around 59 degrees, a brief respite before more rain moves in on Sunday.

The weekend will culminate with another round of showers on Sunday, coupled with strong southeast winds gusting up to 28 mph. Temperatures on Sunday will hover around 58 degrees, with a 90% chance of rain by evening. As a precaution, residents should secure any outdoor decorations or lightweight objects that may be affected by the high winds, especially those with Halloween displays still outside.

With patchy fog and occasional thunderstorms also possible, drivers are advised to remain alert, particularly during early morning and late evening hours. The chilly, windy conditions are expected to continue into next week, setting the tone for a brisk start to November.
