Newfane, VT – A Brattleboro man was arrested Friday following a traffic stop on Route 30 after deputies discovered he was driving with a suspended license and had an active arrest warrant.
According to the Windham County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Thomas Raymond observed a red GMC Sierra committing multiple motor vehicle violations while traveling south on Route 30 near the Dummerston/Newfane town line on October 24, 2025.
Deputies identified the driver as Benjamin Stone, 26, of Brattleboro, Vermont, and determined that his license was criminally suspended in the state. Stone was taken into custody and brought to the Windham County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
During the investigation, authorities learned that Stone also had an active in-state warrant for a separate misdemeanor offense. Following processing, he was cited and released on both charges.
Stone is scheduled to appear in court on January 6, 2026, for the suspended license charge and on October 27, 2025, for the arrest on the warrant.
No injuries or additional arrests were reported in connection with the incident.
