Tucson, AZ – The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a Wind Advisory and Freeze Watch for parts of southeastern Arizona, affecting Cochise County areas including Douglas, Willcox, Benson, and Sierra Vista.

The Wind Advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. MST on Friday. Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph. These conditions may lead to blown-down tree limbs and potential power outages. Motorists, particularly those with high-profile vehicles, should use caution while driving.

Additionally, a Freeze Watch is in place for Willcox Playa and Sulphur Springs Valley from late Friday night through Sunday morning. Overnight temperatures could drop as low as 32 degrees, potentially causing frost and freeze damage to sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing.

Residents should secure loose items and protect tender plants from the cold as these weather conditions develop.
