Wilson County, TN – Anonymous threats targeting a middle school prompted increased security and an ongoing investigation Thursday.
According to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, the Mt. Juliet Police Department recently received anonymous calls indicating a potential threat directed at West Wilson Middle School. In response, the Sheriff’s Office School Resource Division implemented additional security measures while authorities worked to assess the situation.
Officials said that after investigating the reported threats, no credible threat to student or staff safety has been identified at this time. Despite that finding, authorities have launched a formal investigation into the origin of the calls.
The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office is now leading the investigation due to the threat involving a county school. Law enforcement agencies are continuing to coordinate with school administrators to maintain safety protocols and monitor any developments.
The increased security presence remained in place as a precaution, reflecting standard procedures during threat assessments involving schools.
