Lebanon, TN – The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying whoever shot and severely injured a small black dog last month on Oak Grove Road.
According to the Wilson County Animal Control (WCAC), officers responded to the area on September 18, 2025, after reports of an injured dog wearing a blue collar. The dog was found suffering from a serious wound to its right front leg and was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment.
X-rays later revealed bullet fragments in the leg. Investigators determined the dog had been shot twice—once grazing its spine and another striking its front right leg at the elbow, shattering the bone.
WCAC and the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division are actively investigating the case and are offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest and prosecution. Officials noted that additional private donations may increase the reward total.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Donnell at 615-444-1412 ext. 252 or email tdonnell@wcso95.org. Tips can also be shared with Wilson County Animal Control at 615-444-9775.
