Wilmington, N.C. – Rain will continue to push into coastal North Carolina through Wednesday, with the heaviest totals expected near Wilmington, Southport, and the Grand Strand. Some locations could see up to 2 inches, raising the risk of minor flooding in low-lying spots.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, rainfall will be most concentrated along the coast, with inland areas like Lumberton and Dillon seeing lighter amounts closer to a quarter inch. Steadier showers are likely near Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, and along U.S. 17, where totals of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible.

Drivers should prepare for ponding on roads, especially in Wilmington and North Myrtle Beach during peak downpours. Coastal residents are urged to keep storm drains clear and allow extra travel time. While widespread flooding isn’t expected, isolated trouble spots may develop in urban and poorly drained areas.

Rain chances taper off late Wednesday, but another round of unsettled weather could move in by next weekend.
