Wilmington, Del. – Cloudy skies will dominate the start of the week in northern Delaware, with a few rounds of rain possible before drier weather takes hold by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, Wilmington could see showers develop between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Monday night. Rain chances remain low but could briefly impact evening commuters or those traveling late. Another round of spotty showers is possible Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon before conditions improve.

Temperatures will stay mild, with highs in the mid-to-upper 70s Monday and Tuesday before climbing to the low 80s by Wednesday. Winds from the northeast at 10 to 15 mph Monday will keep conditions cooler along the Delaware River, but by Thursday, lighter breezes and sunnier skies will bring more summerlike warmth.

Drivers should be cautious of slick spots during overnight showers, particularly on I-95 through Wilmington and Route 13 into New Castle. Outdoor plans early in the week may need flexibility, though drier conditions from Thursday onward should provide a better window for activities.

Rain chances diminish after Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies expected Thursday through Saturday. Temperatures will hold steady in the low-to-mid 80s, offering a pleasant stretch leading into the weekend.
