Wilmington, DE – A Wilmington man has been arrested after an alleged drunk driving crash in the parking lot of St. Georges Technical High School on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Delaware State Police, the crash occurred around 3 p.m. on September 9, 2025, when a School Resource Officer (SRO) was alerted to a Tesla driving erratically in the wrong direction through the school’s parking lot. Investigators say the car, driven by 45-year-old Andrew Naylor of Wilmington, struck three other vehicles before coming to a stop.
Police reported that the Tesla collided with a Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 55-year-old Delaware City woman, a Chevrolet Trax operated by a 42-year-old Middletown man, and a Honda Civic driven by a 45-year-old Townsend man. The Delaware City woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the Middletown man suffered serious injuries. Both were taken to area hospitals. The Townsend man declined medical treatment at the scene.
Authorities noted that no students or staff were injured, and school operations were not interrupted. Police say they detected an odor of alcohol on Naylor and found multiple bottles of alcohol inside the Tesla.
Naylor was transported to a hospital for evaluation, and a blood search warrant was obtained. After his release, he was charged with first-degree vehicular assault, second-degree vehicular assault, and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $1,100 unsecured bond.
