Wilmington, DE – A Wilmington man has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash earlier this month in New Castle County.

According to Delaware State Police, the crash happened on August 10 around 4:30 p.m. when a Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle was traveling northbound on Barley Mill Road and exited onto the ramp leading eastbound to Kennett Pike. Troopers said the rider, identified as 21-year-old Zack Napolitano of Wilmington, allegedly failed to negotiate a curve, struck a guardrail, and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Napolitano was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed that he died from those injuries on Sunday, August 24.

Police said the roadway was closed for about three hours after the crash while members of the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated and cleared the scene.
