Willowbrook, IL – Families across DuPage County can enjoy a new holiday tradition as the Village of Willowbrook debuts its Winter Lights Walk, a nightly illuminated trail at Willow Pond that runs from December 6 through January 4.

According to the Willowbrook Parks and Recreation Department, the walk replaces the village’s usual Light Up the Night celebration, which is on pause this year due to construction. The fresh event offers a self-paced, family-friendly path filled with colorful light displays and festive décor. Lights will be on nightly from 4:30 to 9 p.m., and no registration is required.

To add to the seasonal atmosphere, the village scheduled three themed mini-events throughout the month.
The first takes place tonight from 5 to 6 p.m., featuring a Kickoff with Queen Elsa, complete with cookies, hot cocoa, music, and winter-themed activities.

A second special event is planned for December 13 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., offering a Holiday Craft and Wagon Ride where children can create ornament keepsakes and enjoy a cozy wagon ride around the illuminated path.

The month concludes with a Santa and Mrs. Claus Visit on December 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. Families can take festive photos, meet the holiday duo, and view their sleigh near the trail.

Village officials said they hope the new walk provides a joyful seasonal experience for residents and visitors throughout the western suburbs. Parking is available near Willow Pond, and all activities are free to attend.
