Williamson County Traffic Crash Involving School Bus Leaves Students Unharmed

Williamson County, IL – A multi-vehicle crash near Illinois Route 37 and Maxine Lane on Friday afternoon resulted in minor damage to a school bus carrying 27 students.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. when two vehicles collided head-on. The collision caused significant damage to the vehicles and led to secondary contact with the school bus. Despite the bus being struck, no student injuries were reported.

Students aboard the bus were transported to Marion Junior High School following district safety protocols, where parents were notified to pick them up.

Authorities are investigating one of the drivers involved for possible impaired driving. Further details about the crash and those involved are expected as the investigation progresses.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and school officials remained on the scene into the evening.
