Williamson County, IL – A 14-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident Monday night on Illinois Route 149 near Hurst.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 11:34 p.m. and found the teen had been hit by a vehicle traveling at highway speed while walking with a friend. The driver fled the scene, heading northbound.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators have recovered identifiable vehicle parts and urge anyone with information to contact the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office at 618-997-6541 or submit an anonymous tip via the department’s mobile app.
