Williston, ND – A 23-year-old man from Colorado was killed Friday afternoon in a collision northeast of Williston, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:59 p.m. on September 12, 2025, at the intersection of 134th Avenue NW and 54th Street NW, about one mile from Williston. Authorities said a 2002 Chevrolet S10 pickup was traveling eastbound on 54th Street NW when it failed to stop at a posted stop sign.

According to troopers, the pickup entered the intersection and was struck by a 1996 Peterbilt semi-truck traveling southbound on 134th Avenue NW. The impact caused fatal injuries to the 23-year-old pickup driver, who was from Grand Junction, Colorado. Investigators said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The semi-truck was driven by a 29-year-old man from Lambert, Montana. He was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the collision, authorities said.

Agencies responding to the crash included the Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Fire Department, and Williston Ambulance.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
