Eugene, Ore. – Rain and thunderstorms are set to keep Eugene and much of western Oregon unsettled through early next week, with the heaviest showers expected Monday and Tuesday. Drivers and outdoor plans may be disrupted as the National Weather Service warns of a high chance for downpours and possible thunderstorms beginning late Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, showers will spread across Lane County Monday, with storm chances peaking by Tuesday. Rainfall could reach a half-inch in spots, with localized heavier totals where storms form. The highest likelihood of wet weather stretches from Eugene north into the Willamette Valley, affecting cities like Salem and Albany as well.

Widespread haze will clear Saturday, but another system brings steady showers into the region by Monday morning. Winds will remain light, but saturated roads may cause slower commutes on I-5 and surrounding highways. Residents are advised to keep rain gear handy, avoid travel during heavier downpours, and watch for ponding in low-lying areas.

Drier weather gradually returns by Thursday, with mostly sunny skies expected by Friday. However, the storm pattern will dominate much of the workweek before easing late.
