Crete, IL – A welfare check in Will County led deputies to a deadly scene early Sunday, where three adults were found dead inside and outside a home in unincorporated Crete.
According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 2 a.m. to the 3400 block of East Norway Trail and discovered two men and one woman deceased. Investigators identified the victims as 32-year-old Jacob Lambert, along with his parents, 54-year-old Stacy Forde and 55-year-old Patrick Forde.
Sheriff Mike Kelley announced that a suspect, 30-year-old Jenna Strouble of St. John, Indiana, now faces nine counts of first-degree murder in connection to the killings. Authorities said Lambert was found in a car in the driveway, while his parents were located inside the home near the front entrance.
Detectives believe the case was targeted. During interviews, Strouble allegedly made incriminating statements, and investigators recovered a firearm they say matches the weapon used. Officials say she fled to Indiana after the incident, where St. John police took her into custody.
Strouble remains jailed in Lake County, Indiana, pending extradition to Illinois. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional updates or charges could follow as the case develops.
