Bolingbrook, IL – An 18-year-old man was fatally injured in a collision involving his truck and a tree in Bolingbrook on Friday evening.
The Bolingbrook Police Department reported that their units were called to the scene at Boughton Road and Sunshine Dr around 8:30 pm, in response to a single-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a 2012 Dodge pickup had veered off the road on westbound Boughton Road and struck a parkway tree. The young driver, identified as the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the location. The BPD’s traffic unit is diligently working to determine the specifics of the incident.
The Will County Coroner has named the deceased as Rene Lugo Jr., 18, from Bolingbrook. an autopsy was scheduled for Saturday. The crash remains under investigation with authorities.
