Frankfort, IL – A shelter-in-place order impacting parts of Harlem Avenue and Vollmer Road has been lifted Monday after law enforcement concluded a search tied to a police pursuit.

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, the order was issued earlier in the day after a pursuit ended in the Frankfort area with suspects allegedly fleeing on foot. Deputies, along with other law enforcement agencies, searched the surrounding neighborhoods before declaring the area clear.

Officials confirmed the order was precautionary and lifted once officers determined there was no further threat to residents. Authorities said all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

The Sheriff’s Office noted it will provide updates if additional information develops regarding the incident or any arrests. Residents who sheltered during the order are now free to resume normal activities.
