Will County, IL – Plainfield Skateboarder Killed in Collision on Heggs Road Monday

Plainfield, IL – A pedestrian riding a skateboard was killed early Monday morning after being struck by an SUV in Plainfield, according to police.

The Plainfield Police Department said the crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2025, at the intersection of Heggs Road and 127th Street. Preliminary findings indicate the skateboarder was traveling southbound on Heggs Road when a gray 2020 Nissan Rogue, also heading south, hit the pedestrian.

According to police, the victim was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, where he was later pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.

The Nissan driver was also transported to Rush Copley for non-life-threatening injuries and is cooperating with investigators.

Police temporarily closed Heggs Road while the Plainfield Police Department and Illinois State Police conducted crash reconstruction and on-scene analysis. As of Monday afternoon, no citations or charges have been filed, and the case remains under active investigation.
