Crete, IL – An 18-year-old Crete resident who had been missing since February 6 has been found deceased, according to the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that Samuel N. Green was located Friday near a wooded area by a creek, hidden beneath a drain pipe. A coordinated search effort focused on the 23800 block of S. Plum Valley in Crete, near Green’s home. An Emergency Management drone team assisted with an aerial search before sheriff’s deputies discovered his body.
The Green family was notified immediately, and both Crete Fire personnel and the Will County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. The coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner of death, with results to be released at a later date.
Officials expressed condolences to Green’s family and thanked law enforcement agencies and the public for their support during the search efforts.
