Joliet, IL – A Joliet man has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly attacking another man with a handgun last week, according to the Joliet Police Department.

On September 27, 2025, around 1:46 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Youngs Avenue. Police say a 36-year-old man was found with a laceration to his forehead and blood on his clothing. Investigators allege that Reginald Rogers, 33, of Joliet, struck the victim from behind with a handgun and then pointed the weapon at him before the victim fled the scene.

The victim was treated by Joliet Fire Department paramedics but declined hospital transport. Detectives later obtained an arrest warrant for Rogers on charges of aggravated battery, along with a search warrant for his residence.

According to police, the warrants were executed on October 3 at 9 a.m. by Joliet’s Special Operations Squad, Tactical Unit, K9 Unit, and Crisis Negotiator Team. A brief shelter-in-place order was issued for nearby residents as a precaution. Rogers was located inside the residence and taken into custody without incident.

Officers recovered two handguns and a loaded ammunition magazine from the home. The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office approved an additional charge of Armed Habitual Criminal against Rogers. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
