Joliet, IL – A late-night shooting in a Joliet neighborhood left two teenagers critically injured and prompted a swift police response that led to the arrest of a juvenile allegedly connected to the violence.

According to the Joliet Police Department, officers responded around 8:16 p.m. Thursday to reports of multiple individuals shot in the 1000 block of Lois Place. Upon arrival, officers found two 17-year-old males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a residence. One victim was discovered in a second-floor stairwell with injuries to the chest and abdomen, while another was found in a first-floor stairwell with wounds to the leg and abdomen.

Police said officers immediately rendered aid before paramedics arrived. A third victim, a 17-year-old male, was located outside the residence with a gunshot wound to the hand. All three victims were transported for treatment, with two later listed in critical condition.

During the initial response, officers observed a male allegedly running from the area and later took him into custody nearby. Authorities said the 17-year-old juvenile was allegedly found in possession of a backpack containing three 9mm handguns and ammunition, some of which had reportedly been stolen.

Investigators recovered a firearm and multiple shell casings at the scene, along with additional weapons allegedly discovered during a canvass of the apartment complex. Evidence of gunfire damage was found throughout the residence.

The juvenile has been charged with multiple firearm-related offenses, while his alleged involvement in the shooting remains under investigation. Police said the incident appears to be targeted.
