Frankfort, IL – Downtown Frankfort will transform into a winter wonderland for Christkindl Weekend, happening Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 15, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The free, family-friendly event promises festive activities, shopping, and cozy dining for all ages.
Highlights include roaming visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, horse-drawn wagon rides, and live reindeer. Strolling Dickens carolers and the Frankfort Brass Band will fill the air with holiday cheer. Kids can enjoy the trackless train, while adults shop at the Girl Scout holiday market.
Saturday’s lantern parade begins at 4 p.m. at the Frankfort Area Historical Museum, followed by storytelling, hot cocoa, and cookies. On Sunday, visitors can create ornaments and sing carols with Sammy Listro in a lively sing-along.
According to village officials, all activities are weather-dependent and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
