Police said the truck initiated a left turn toward northbound traffic and collided with a Chevrolet Sonic traveling southbound.
The Chevrolet’s driver, a 28-year-old man from Joliet, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He was transported by the Joliet Fire Department to St. Joseph Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured.
