New Lenox, IL – Holiday cheer returns to Will County this December as the Village of New Lenox once again hosts Christmas in the Commons. The annual tradition will feature dazzling light displays, family activities, and special appearances by Santa Claus beginning Saturday, December 6 through Sunday, December 21.
According to the Village of New Lenox, the Commons will transform into a glowing holiday destination with a massive 50-foot illuminated Santa Claus—covered in more than 18,500 LED lights—alongside new 3D displays perfect for family photos. The event will run on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month.
Each weekend includes the holiday market, horse-drawn wagon rides, hot cocoa, souvenir mugs, and visits with Santa. Children can drop letters into Santa’s mailbox, and any received by December 18 will get a written reply.
Organizers say the full event schedule, including entertainment details, will be posted online at newlenox.net/christmas as the dates approach.
With festive lights, markets, and family activities, Christmas in the Commons has become one of the Chicago area’s most popular holiday traditions, drawing visitors from across Will County and beyond.
