Joliet, IL – The Joliet Police Department has officially kicked off its annual “Patrol for Hunger” food drive, inviting residents and businesses across Will County to help support local families in need through Thursday, Dec. 19.
According to the Joliet Police Department, the holiday collection effort is being held in partnership with The Salvation Army Joliet Corps Community Center. The campaign focuses on gathering non-perishable food items for Joliet-area households facing hardship during the winter season.
Donations can be made at both Joliet Police stations:
• 150 W. Washington St., Joliet
• 7196 Caton Farm Rd., Plainfield
Local businesses have also joined as designated drop-off points, including Emediate Cure Quick Care–Joliet at 1508 Essington Rd.; Baird & Warner Plainfield at 11914 Rt. 59; and Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol, LLC at 3260 Executive Dr.
Police say additional Joliet-area businesses are encouraged to participate by hosting a donation box. Those interested can contact Sgt. English at denglish@joliet.gov or 815-724-3202 to receive collection materials.
The department emphasized that every contribution—large or small—helps ensure no Joliet resident goes hungry during the holiday season. More donation locations may be added as businesses enroll.
Residents are encouraged to drop off canned goods, boxed meals, soups, rice, pasta, and other shelf-stable foods.
