Braidwood, IL – Residents across Will County are encouraged to safely dispose of unused or expired prescription medications during the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
According to the Braidwood Area Healthy Community Coalition, the event will be held at the Braidwood Police Department parking lot, 141 W. Main Street, offering a convenient drive-thru drop-off for safe and anonymous medication disposal. The initiative helps prevent misuse, accidental overdoses, and environmental harm caused by improper drug disposal.
Attendees can also access Narcan education and distribution, along with local mental health and substance prevention resources. The Will County Hidden in Plain Sight Trailer will be on site, demonstrating how everyday items can conceal signs of substance use.
Organizers say the effort aims to create a healthier community by connecting residents with prevention services and encouraging safe medication management at home.
The event is sponsored by the City of Braidwood Police Department, Will County Sheriff’s Office, Substance Use Initiatives, and the Will County Health Department.
