Salt Lake City, UT – Utah residents should prepare for a week of hazy skies and rising temperatures. According to the US National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, wildfire smoke is drifting in from the southwest, causing significant haze across much of the state.

The 10-day forecast for Salt Lake City predicts consistent heat, with temperatures peaking at 91°F today. As the week progresses, temperatures will climb steadily, reaching 95°F on Monday and 99°F by Friday and Saturday.

According to meteorologists, the near-surface smoke from wildfires is expected to persist, contributing to poor air quality. Residents are advised to monitor air quality updates and limit outdoor activities, particularly those with respiratory issues.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will see temperatures reaching 93°F, with clear skies expected throughout the day. Wednesday’s forecast includes a slight dip to 90°F, but the heat will surge again on Thursday, hitting 96°F. The weekend will bring the highest temperatures of the week, with both Friday and Saturday forecasted to reach 99°F.
