Bismarck, ND – The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Freeze Warning for most of western and central North Dakota, in effect from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. CDT Sunday.

According to the alert, overnight lows are expected to fall into the mid-20s to lower 30s, marking one of the coldest mornings of the season so far. Areas affected include Bismarck, Minot, Williston, Dickinson, and surrounding communities.

Forecasters warn that sub-freezing temperatures could kill garden vegetation and damage outdoor potted plants. Residents are encouraged to bring plants indoors or cover sensitive vegetation before temperatures drop overnight.

The cold air mass will settle in behind a passing front, signaling a shift to more typical late-October weather for the region. Sunday afternoon temperatures are expected to remain cool, with clear skies and light winds.
