Wichita, Kansas – Cooler-than-normal temperatures will stick around through Monday across much of Kansas, with highs in the low to mid-80s and increasing chances for weekend storms.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, isolated showers may develop Saturday morning, with storm chances climbing to 50% by Sunday afternoon. Highs through the weekend will remain between 80 and 85 degrees—well below average for late July and early August.

Cities across central and southern Kansas—including Wichita, Salina, Hutchinson, and El Dorado—can expect spotty storms on Saturday, particularly in the early hours, followed by a more widespread threat Sunday. Overnight lows will hover in the low 60s, offering a cooler start to each day.

Drivers should watch for slick roads during morning commutes and outdoor plans may need adjusting, especially late Saturday into Sunday. Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items, avoid flooded roads, and monitor local alerts.

Temperatures will rebound slightly Monday, with highs nearing the upper 80s. Additional updates will be issued if storm activity intensifies or if new advisories are posted.
