Wichita, KS – Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue across central Kansas tonight and into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Wichita. Rain chances are highest near Wichita, Hutchinson, and Salina, where precipitation probabilities hover around 50%.

According to the agency’s October 13 forecast, overnight temperatures will remain in the 60s, with Tuesday highs ranging from the upper 60s in central Kansas to the low 80s across southeast areas. The Wichita area could see isolated showers early Tuesday before conditions turn warmer and drier midweek.

By Wednesday, forecasters expect mostly sunny skies with highs between 80°F and 85°F, followed by another warm day on Thursday before late-night showers return.

Motorists should use caution during any evening storms, as brief downpours and lightning could affect travel conditions in parts of the state.

The National Weather Service notes the next notable rain chance will develop Thursday night, marking a brief break in precipitation midweek.
