Wichita, KS – Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through Monday and into the night, especially across central and south-central Kansas, according to the US National Weather Service Wichita.

The agency’s early morning update on October 6 said the highest rain chances will center around Wichita, Hutchinson, and Emporia. Temperatures are forecast to cool notably behind the storms, with lows tonight ranging from 48 to 60 degrees.

Tuesday is expected to start with some lingering morning rain in parts of central Kansas before skies gradually clear. Highs will range from the mid-60s to low 70s, providing a refreshing break from the recent warm stretch.

By Wednesday, conditions should improve across the state with partly cloudy skies and highs between 67 and 77 degrees, marking a stable and comfortable midweek forecast.

Drivers are urged to use caution during periods of heavy rainfall and possible lightning, particularly during the morning and evening commute hours.

This early October pattern brings much-needed precipitation to parts of Kansas but also signals the start of a cooler, fall-like trend expected to persist through the week.
