Wichita, Kan. – Thunderstorms are expected to roll through central Kansas this morning, bringing the risk of heavy rainfall and small hail before shifting eastward into the overnight hours. Drivers may encounter slick spots and brief visibility issues, especially along I-135 from Salina to Wichita.
According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, scattered showers will persist through Tuesday morning, with isolated stronger storms capable of producing hail. Rain chances are highest near Great Bend, Hutchinson, and Salina, where localized downpours could impact early commutes.
By Tuesday afternoon, drier air will move in from the west, leading to warmer and sunnier conditions across much of the state. Highs are forecast to climb into the low to mid-80s Tuesday, followed by mid-80s again on Wednesday.
Residents are advised to monitor weather alerts, avoid flooded intersections, and allow extra time on the roads this morning. Conditions are expected to stabilize by late Tuesday, but additional advisories may be issued if storms redevelop.
