WICHITA, Kan. – Halloween night will bring cloudy skies and seasonably cool air across south-central and eastern Kansas, creating a comfortable setup for trick-or-treaters with no rain in sight.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, temperatures Friday evening will hover in the 50s between 6 and 9 p.m., with light winds and thickening clouds across much of the region. Early evening readings will range from 57°F in Wichita and 59°F in Parsons to the lower 50s in Great Bend and Salina.

Despite the clouds, conditions will remain dry as a weak upper disturbance passes overhead. No precipitation is expected, and winds will stay under 10 mph, allowing for easy outdoor plans.

By late evening, readings will cool into the upper 40s, making for a crisp end to Halloween festivities. Overnight lows will dip into the lower 40s west of I-135, while eastern counties hold closer to the upper 40s.

Forecasters say the weekend will stay quiet, with clouds breaking by Saturday afternoon and highs climbing into the lower 60s. The stretch of dry fall weather is expected to persist well into next week.

Families heading out Friday evening should dress in light layers and carry flashlights for visibility under cloudy skies.
