Wichita, Kansas – Generally mild and pleasant weather is expected across central and south-central Kansas over the next several days, offering a break from harsher winter conditions.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Wichita, Sunday will be sunny and warmer, with afternoon highs ranging from 41 to 54 degrees. Morning lows will dip into the low to mid-20s, but warming temperatures through the day will improve outdoor conditions across the region.

On Monday, increasing cloud cover is expected, though temperatures will remain mild. Highs are forecast between 47 and 54 degrees, with overnight lows settling into the upper 20s to near 30 degrees. No significant travel impacts are anticipated along major corridors such as Interstate 135, Interstate 35, or U.S. Highway 54.

A weak frontal boundary is forecast to move through central Kansas on Tuesday, bringing a slight chance for sprinkles or flurries, primarily during the daytime hours. High temperatures Tuesday are expected to range from 42 to 50 degrees, with lows falling into the mid-20s. Any precipitation is expected to be light, with little to no accumulation.

By Wednesday, cooler but still seasonable conditions will settle in behind the front. Forecast highs range from 39 to 47 degrees, with overnight lows between 23 and 27 degrees. Skies are expected to be partly cloudy, and no additional precipitation is currently forecast.

For commuters, students, and outdoor workers, the stretch of mild weather through early week should provide favorable conditions, particularly during afternoon hours.

The National Weather Service emphasized that while minor fluctuations are expected, no significant winter storms or hazardous weather are currently indicated through midweek.

Additional updates will be issued as the forecast evolves across central, south-central, and southeast Kansas.
