Gypsum, KS – The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a magnitude 3.7 earthquake approximately 6 km (4 miles) west-southwest of Gypsum, Kansas, at 9:39 PM CST on Monday, December 8, 2025.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 km (6 miles) and produced light shaking (Intensity IV) across Saline County, with reports coming from Salina, Gypsum, and nearby communities north of Wichita.

No damage or injuries have been reported at this time. Residents across central Kansas noted mild tremors lasting a few seconds, particularly in Salina and surrounding rural areas.
