Wichita, KS – Central and southern Kansas will stay unseasonably warm through the end of the week, with highs in the 80s before showers and storms return by late Thursday night, according to the US National Weather Service Wichita.

Forecasters say temperatures will reach between 82–86°F Wednesday and 80–85°F Thursday, with breezy conditions expected to develop during the day. The warm streak will hold until a weather system moves in from the west late Thursday, increasing the chance of rain and thunderstorms across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and isolated storms are possible Friday and Saturday, especially in southeast Kansas. While no severe weather is expected, residents should monitor changing conditions heading into the weekend.

By Saturday, temperatures will cool slightly into the low to mid-70s, with lingering showers likely in southeastern parts of the state before clearing by Saturday night.
