Wichita, KS – A sharp drop in temperatures will bring bitter cold and a chance of flurries across south-central Kansas tonight into Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Wichita. Lows are expected to fall into the mid-teens, with wind chills as low as 7°F to 12°F.

Forecasters say highs Thursday will only reach the lower to mid-30s, with a few light snow flurries possible through the morning. Conditions will improve Friday and Saturday, when temperatures rebound to the mid-40s and near 50 degrees before another cold front pushes through late Saturday night.

The next front is expected to bring a sharp cooldown by Sunday, with highs falling back into the 30s and lows dipping into the 20s.

Residents are urged to take precautions against the cold, including protecting exposed pipes, limiting outdoor time, and checking on vulnerable neighbors and pets.
