Wichita, KS – The National Weather Service in Wichita is monitoring a weak weather system expected to bring rain and a brief mix of snow to parts of central, south-central, and southeast Kansas late Friday into Saturday.
According to the agency’s early Wednesday update, November 26, 2025, most of the region will remain dry through Friday evening, with only a few sprinkles or flurries possible Wednesday night. Temperatures will stay seasonable through the end of the week, with highs generally in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Forecasters say showers are likely to develop late Friday night and continue into Saturday. As a cold front sweeps across the state Saturday afternoon, a short window of snow mixing with rain could occur before temperatures fall sharply behind the front.
The National Weather Service emphasized that little to no accumulation or travel impact is expected from this system, but colder air will settle in by Saturday night, with lows dropping into the 30s and lower 40s.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts through the week as timing and temperatures could shift slightly.
