Forecasters said south winds will increase Saturday, with gusts reaching 40 to 50 miles per hour across central Kansas. These strong winds may create hazardous travel conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles on open roads.
According to the National Weather Service, rain chances will return late Sunday as a cold front pushes into the region. Thunderstorms are possible during the evening hours, bringing the potential for brief downpours and localized impacts.
Saturday’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and highs between 84 and 88 degrees. Winds will remain strong throughout the day before easing slightly overnight. By Sunday, highs will again reach the mid-80s, with a 30 percent chance of storms arriving late in the day.
