Pendleton, OR – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades and the Upper Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest, with snow expected to begin Sunday afternoon and continue through Monday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Pendleton, snowfall totals of 2 to 6 inches are forecast above 4,000 feet, affecting mountain communities including La Pine, Sisters, Camp Sherman, Easton, Sunriver, and Roslyn.

The advisory remains in effect from 4 p.m. Sunday to 1 p.m. Monday, with wet snow expected to create slick and hazardous travel conditions, particularly on bridges and overpasses. Drivers crossing White Pass or Santiam Pass should be prepared for reduced visibility and snow-covered roads.

The NWS advises motorists to slow down and use caution, as travel could become difficult during heavier snow periods. Those planning outdoor activities in the mountains this weekend should be ready for rapidly changing weather conditions.
