White County, IN – Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning on Interstate 65 in White County.

According to the Indiana State Police Lafayette District, troopers responded just after 12:30 a.m. to the crash near the 198 mile marker, where a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche traveling southbound lost control and veered off the west side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a guardrail and overturned before coming to rest.

A passenger in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by the White County Coroner’s Office. Authorities say the victim’s name will be released once identification is confirmed and family members have been notified.

Two other occupants were transported to Lafayette-area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Indiana State Police were assisted by the White County Sheriff’s Office, Wolcott Fire Department, Wolcott EMS, and Jasper County EMS at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
