Dover, DE – When do clocks fall back across Delaware this year? Residents in Wilmington, Dover, Newark, Middletown, and Rehoboth Beach will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as Daylight Saving Time officially ends across the state.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Delaware will shift to Eastern Standard Time through early March 2026. The “fall back” provides an extra hour of sleep, but also signals shorter days and earlier sunsets as the state transitions into late fall.
In Wilmington, the sun will set around 4:56 p.m. on Sunday, while along the coast in Rehoboth Beach, sunset will arrive closer to 4:53 p.m. Residents statewide should expect darker evenings starting next week.
Fire departments and safety officials urge Delawareans to use the time change as a reminder to check smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and replace batteries—a national safety practice recommended twice a year.
Daylight Saving Time will resume on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” by one hour again.
