Salt Lake City, UT – When do clocks fall back across Utah this year? Residents in Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, St. George, and Logan will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, as Daylight Saving Time officially ends across the Beehive State.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, Utah will return to Mountain Standard Time through early March 2026. The “fall back” provides an extra hour of sleep, but also signals earlier sunsets and shorter days as the state moves toward winter.
In Salt Lake City, sunset on Sunday will occur around 5:22 p.m., while in Provo and Ogden, dusk will fall near 5:25 p.m. Southern Utah cities like St. George will see sunset around 5:38 p.m., while northern areas such as Logan will darken closer to 5:17 p.m.
Fire and emergency officials across Utah urge residents to check and replace smoke and carbon monoxide detector batteries during the time change—a twice-yearly safety practice encouraged nationwide.
Daylight Saving Time will resume on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” by one hour again.
