Lincoln, NE – When do clocks fall back across Nebraska this year? Residents in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, Kearney, and North Platte will turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2025, as Daylight Saving Time officially ends across the Cornhusker State.

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, most of Nebraska will return to Central Standard Time, while parts of the western Panhandle—including Scottsbluff and Alliance—will shift to Mountain Standard Time. The “fall back” gives residents an extra hour of sleep, but also means shorter days and earlier sunsets.

In Omaha, sunset on Sunday will occur around 5:10 p.m., while in Lincoln and Grand Island, dusk will fall close to 5:15 p.m. Western areas like Scottsbluff will see sunset near 4:50 p.m. Mountain Time. Commuters should prepare for darker evenings starting next week.

Fire and safety officials encourage Nebraskans to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors while adjusting clocks—a twice-yearly safety habit promoted nationwide.

Daylight Saving Time resumes on Sunday, March 8, 2026, when clocks “spring forward” by one hour again.
